Object Identifiers (OIDs) are a series of numbers, or 'arcs', allocated in a hierarchical manner in a way that is similar to a computer directory structure, so that each successive number in the OID represents a sub-component of the previous number. This is the register of all Object Identifier partitions allocated by the National E-Health OID Registration Authority under the arc 1.2.36.1.2001, that is {iso(1) member-body(2) au(36) government (1) nehta (2001)}. It operates under the authority of the Department of Finance, who is the owner and manager of the Australian Government OID (1.2.36.1).
