We provide access to Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), other terminologies and third party content to support digital health and clinical data sharing alongside SNOMED CT-AU. This allows you to access terminology from a single source to streamline how your applications interact with terminology.

Third party reference sets

We provide access to the following third party reference sets as part of the SNOMED CT-AU monthly release. If you’d like further information about the content and how to use it, please contact the owners.

Third party terminologies and code systems

We provide access to LOINC, RCPA resources and other code systems, as well as SNOMED CT-AU, to support digital health and clinical data sharing.

LOINC: a test request and result terminology

LOINC is an international standard for identifying health measurements, observations and documents. It’s relevant for reference labs, healthcare providers, insurance companies, software and device manufacturers and researchers.

Other national code systems

We provide access to over 50 code systems that may be used in clinical software to support administrative sections of medical records such as occupations, the Australian Immunisation Register and valid reason for null values.

You can access these code systems, which support FHIR in an Australian context, through our National Terminology Server.
