The Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency) is seeking feedback on the draft Common CIS Requirements v0.1.Common Clinical Information System Requirements (Common CIS Requirements)Common CIS Requirements outline the recommended minimum requirements for Clinical Information Systems (CIS’s) to connect with Australia’s national digital health infrastructure. They ensure systems can securely exchange information and work together seamlessly across different care settings and sectors. Built on nationally recognised specifications, these standards create a shared baseline that support safe, consistent, and interoperable information flow across the healthcare system. They define foundational recommendations for all CIS’s. The Common CIS Requirements are intentionally structured so sector-specific requirements such as those for Aged Care, General Practice and future Allied Health CISs can be layered on top. This allows each care setting to meet its unique needs while still aligning with a unified national framework.
