Healthcare Identifiers Service - Conformance Documents - Release Note v5.1

This suite of conformance documents supports the safe use of healthcare identifiers in health software systems. The conformance requirements apply to one or more business use cases, where each use case describes a scenario in which healthcare identifiers are used.

Release rationale v5.1

Updates to support changes in the conformance profile:

• Supporting access to the HI Service for two new entity types introduced as part of the Healthcare Identifiers Act 2010 legislation changes in November 2025: healthcare support service provider and health administration entity.
• New section 2.6 to clarify healthcare identifier number statuses and responses.
• Removed mandatory requirement 8526, recommended requirement 5848, and added a mandatory requirement 26000 to prohibit basic search types.
• Editorial updates to improve clarity.

The supporting documents in this end product have also been updated to reflect these changes.
