Health informatics – Service architecture (HISA) – Part 1: Enterprise viewpoint

This standard provides guidance and requirements for the description, planning and development of new systems and the integration of existing information systems. It applies both within one enterprise and across different healthcare organisations.

The document sets out an architecture that integrates common data and business logic into a specific architectural layer (the middleware). This layer is distinct from individual applications and accessible throughout the whole information system.
