TheInternational Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a global, not-for-profit organisation that develops and publishes international standards, ensuring the safety, reliability and interoperability of all electrical and electronic products and related services. It administers four conformity assessment systems whose members certify that devices, systems, installations, services and people work as required.
All electrotechnologies are covered by IEC Standards, including general disciplines such as terminology and symbols, electromagnetic compatibility, measurement and performance, dependability, design and development, safety and the environment.
