This facilitates communication between DICOM and the various HL7 systems. This adds gender, sex, and related fields and resolves problems with the oversimplified single male/female (M/F) coding. This supplement includes updates the Patient Sex (0010,0040) description to match the HL7-updated definition. It also adds optional attributes to the Patient Study Module and to various C-FIND services.
