The Aged Care Clinical Information System (ACCIS) requirements project was initiated with co-operation from the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to help address recommendations 68 and 109 of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. Following the development of the ACCIS Requirements published in August 2024, the General Practitioner Clinical Information Software (GP CIS) requirements have been developed to reduce barriers to GPs providing clinical care to residential aged care homes and support interoperability. The GP CIS requirements promote interoperability as a strategic priority in the Australian National Digital Health Strategy.
